The DC Assistive Technology Device Loan Program was established for individuals and service providers to borrow assistive technology (AT) devices easily and at no charge. Borrowing AT devices is beneficial when making a decision on the appropriate AT to purchase (try it before you buy it) or to serve as a loaner during a device repair. Borrowed devices can also provide an accommodation on a short-term basis or can also be used for training or learning purposes.
Persons with disabilities, family members, government agencies, teachers or other school representatives, service providers working with persons with disabilities such as occupational, speech and physical therapists and AT specialists.
Contact the DCATRC to learn whether the device(s) you require are available. The number of devices borrowed may be limited based on inventory and prior need. Schedule an appointment to pick-up the devices. Staff will assist you in the selection of devices and also provide basic instruction and implementation ideas, if needed.
Please call to find out the specific devices available for loan and to receive assistance with selection. Availability may be limited on most requested items.
